Requirements for Activating Subjects

Amy Brown Updated by Amy Brown

Content Guidelines

Prior to marking a subject active, certain criteria should be met:
  • Minimum of 12 *practice questions per standard (practice questions are defined as items available in the 10-question practice sets from the student study plan and in the teacher assessment builder)
    • At least 6 of the items should be single-answer multiple-choice items or multi-select items.
      • This number excludes video questions, diagnostic questions, and constructed response questions.
  • Videos for at least 50% of standards
    • Minimum of 4 worksheets per domain (exceptions can be made for domains with very few standards)
  • Total question count minimums (may include practice, diagnostic, video, and constructed response):
    • 300 or more questions for grades K-2
    • 500 or more questions for grades 3-12
  • After a subject is activated with minimum requirements, we should circle back to meet the following requirements within 6 months of activation.
    • Minimum of 20 *practice questions per standard
      • This number excludes video questions, diagnostic questions, and constructed response questions.
    • Videos for at least 75% of standards
  • When a subject is ready to activate, additional steps are needed to add to bundles and sync to Salesforce, so please communicate directly with Amy to ensure that this happens.

*practice questions are defined as items available in the 10-question practice sets from the student study plan and in the teacher assessment builder

Subject Name Guidelines

  • Name - use the full name including standards acronym and test acronym for grades K-12.
    • Examples:
      • Kindergarten Science (OAS)
      • Biology EOC (SCCCR 2024)
  • Display Name
    • K-1 format
      • K Science, 1st Math, K Reading, 1st ELA (Reading versus ELA varies by state)
    • 2-5 format examples - add the word grade
      • 2nd Grade Math, 3rd Grade Science, 4th Grade Social Studies.
  • 6-12 format
    • Match the name. No need to shorten
  • Display Name special case: If the subject name has (prior version) as part of the name, this should also be included in the display name in all cases K-12.
  • Years - avoid unless necessary to distinguish between versions. If there is a clearly labeled prior version and current version, the year should not be necessary. I am working with Josh to find products with years in names and remove when we can.
