How Do I Create an Opportunity Record? (BDRS)

BDRs will create an opportunity record each time they book a demo
Before Creating an Opportunity Record
  1. Verify all contacts that you have been working with are related to the account(s). You can update this information in Quick Call. For information on how to use Quick Call, click here.
  2. Open the account record that will be associated with the new opportunity record. You can open the account record from Quick Call or use the Search bar to search for the account record.

Create the Opportunity Record
  1. On the account record, click the drop-down and click Create New Opportunity.
  1. Complete the required fields and click Save.
  • Opportunity Name Account Name + the Close Date (you can enter anything here, once you click save, the Opportunity Name will default)
  • Primary Contact - demo attendee
  • Close Date - select the date 90 days past the demo date (demo date + 90 days)
  • Stage - select Staging
  • Demo Booked By - BDR name
  • Demo Date - select the date of the demo
  1. After saving, click the quick link in the green box or In the Related List Quick Links section, hover over Opportunities, and click the opportunity name of the record you created.
  1. Click the icon next to Opportunity Owner. Update the owner to the appropriate AE. Check the Send notification email checkbox. Click Change Owner.
  1. In the activity section, add any applicable pre-demo notes for the AE. Click Save.
  • Subject: Sent Email
  • Activity Type: Demo Notes
  • Comments: enter anything related to the demo
Reschedule Demos
  1. Click on the Opportunities tab in Mockingbird.
  1. Click on the Opportunity name to open the opportunity record.
How to Reschedule a Demo
  1. In Salesforce, Open the opportunity record.
  2. Check the pencil next to the Demo Status Field and select Reschedule.
  3. Check the pencil next to the Demo Date Field and select the new Demo Date.
  4. Check the pencil next to the Close Date Field and update the Close Date to three months after the rescheduled demo date.
  5. Click Save.
