How to Add the Plano Office Printer to Your Progress Learning MacBook

โš ๏ธ Important: You may need admin privileges for this process. If prompted for admin credentials, you must request access by submitting an IT HelpDesk ticket before continuing.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step 1: Open System Settings

  1. Click the Apple Menu ๏ฃฟ in the top-left corner of your screen.

  2. Select System Settings from the dropdown menu.

๐Ÿ”ง Step 2: Open Printers & Scanners and Click Add

  1. In the System Settings window, search for "Printers" or scroll to Printers & Scanners in the sidebar.

  2. Click Printers & Scanners.

  3. In the Printers & Scanners window, locate the button circled in red labeled Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax, and click it to proceed.

๐Ÿ›‘ Admin Privileges May Be Required

  1. After clicking the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax button, you may be prompted for admin credentials.

    • In the username field, enter your first and last name with a space in between (e.g., Aarron Anderson).
    • In the password field, enter your regular computer login password.
      • If you donโ€™t know your computer password, use your Progress Learning Google account password instead.

  2. If you do not have admin access, submit a request via the IT HelpDesk.

โœ… Step 3: Select the Printer and Complete Setup

  1. In the Add Printer window, select the printer:
    HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 Plano Office.

    • Ensure you select this exact name as shown in the printer list.

  2. After selecting the printer, macOS will begin configuring it. A loading prompt will appear stating "Setting up the device." Wait for the process to complete.

  3. If prompted, skip the option to Add as Fax Printer by selecting Not Now.

๐Ÿ Step 4: Finalize Printer Setup

  1. Once the printer setup is complete, return to the Printers & Scanners window.

  2. Locate the newly added printer (HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 Plano Office) in the list. Click the arrow button (circled in red in the screenshot) to access its detailed settings.

  3. After clicking the arrow button, verify the printer details in the settings window. The setup is now complete, and the printer is ready to use.
