How to Add Upsell Products to a Renewal Quote

In this article, you will learn how to add new (upsell) products to a renewal quote. This can be at the customer's request, or you may choose to build an upsell quote that includes resources the customer has trialed recently.

  1. Create the renewal quote following the steps outlined in the article How to Create a Basic Renewal Opportunity and Quote. You should already have the percentage discount calculated for the renewal.
  2. Add the new products to the group in CPQ. If the customer is planning to renew early (they usually do because they want the new resources to start right away) you'll need to adjust the global start date on the quote to the earliest start date. Leave the end date the same so that all resources are aligned to one end date. The cost for the new resources will be prorated accordingly.

  1. For the existing resources, update the start date at the line item level to whatever it should be based on the contract expiration date.

  1. Click Save
