How to Log a Call in Salesforce

How to log a call in the Contact or Lead record:

You may use Vonage or Outreach to log calls.
  1. Open the Account, Opportunity, Contact, or Lead record in Salesforce.
  2. Under Activity, click "Log a Call". Enter the Subject, select the Activity Type, enter applicable notes and click "Save".
    You cannot associate a lead to an account when logging a call. The activity will be attached to the lead record.

Activity Type (for AEs and BDRs):

  • CC-RPC = Cold Call, Right Party Contact
  • CC-No RPC = Cold Call, No Right Party Contact
  • FU-RPC = Follow Up, Right Party Contact
  • FU-No RPC = Follow Up, No Right Party Contact

How to log a call using Outreach:

  1. Open the Contact's record in Salesforce
    1. If the Contact does not exist in Salesforce, create the new contact
  2. The Prospect is called by clicking their phone number within the Outreach Activity panel
    1. The Outreach Call Bar will appear at the bottom of your browser
      1. Use the Record, Hold, Mute or End Call buttons as needed
  3. Disposition the call within the pop-up after you end the call. The call will be logged and added to the Prospect's contact record in Salesforce as a completed call.
