Purpose
This article walks through the changes, process, and notes around Quote approvals for New Customer opportunities in Salesforce
Intended Audience
- New Sales Leadership
What's Changing
- Quotes have a status (Draft, In Review, Approved, Denied)
- All quotes will need to be approved. This process will become a combination of automated approvals (for 10% or less) and a new approval process going to Will Clemens.
- Quotes approved will remain in the approved status until the discount moves above the approved threshold. This will move it back to Draft and require approval another time.
- Quote Documents cannot be generated until a quote is the Approved status.
Notes
- Small School discounts will require a direct approval, and should be notated in approval comments
How to complete the approval:
- When a quote is submitted for approval, the manager will receive an email from Salesforce showing:
- Opportunity Name
- Opportunity Owner
- List price of quote
- Net price of quote
- Discount applied
- Click the link provided in the email or head over to the Approval Requests object in Salesforce
- Verify Quote record details and chose to approve or deny the request
- Click approve or deny and leave comments (if necessary)

Discounts:
These are the standard discounts that reps are allowed to use without approval. Please note that these discounts are optional and should be used as a sales tactic according to the reps discretion. All other discounts will need to be approved by a manager.

Single School / District | Multi-year Discount | For schools and districts that commit to multi-year deals | 5% for 2 years 10% for 3+ years |
District | District Discount | For districts with 5+ schools | 5-10% Need Manager Approval |
