Co-terming Contracts for Renewal

In Salesforce CPQ, Co-terming is the process of aligning the end dates of multiple contracts into a single renewal date. This simplifies the renewal process for both your sales team and your customers by consolidating multiple subscriptions into one comprehensive renewal quote.

Here are the steps to align contracts that are up for renewal through the co-terming process.

  1. From the account record, click on the contracts link under the quick links section.
  2. Check the boxes of the contracts you are wanting to combine into a single renewal quote, and click "renew contracts."
  3. On the next screen, you will be asked to select a Master Contract. The Master Contract is the contract that contains the end date you want to align to. If both contracts have the same end date, then either contract can be the master contract.
  4. Click "Renew." A new opportunity is created with a quote that contains all products from the selected contracts. The end date for all products is the same as the master contract.
  5. Once your quote is created, please be aware of any proration that is needed for the start dates. Discounts should be applied as a percentage.
